Student Opportunities and Activities
At Drummoyne Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom, before and after school and via external providers to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.
Some of these programs may include:
- school sport, athletics and PSSA inter-school sports competitions
- creative and performing arts groups and showcases
- cultural and language activities
- excursions, incursions and school camps
- public speaking and debating
- interest-based clubs
- student leadership opportunities
- specialised activities that support high potential and gifted learners.

Our School-led Extra-Curricular Highlights
These activities will often take place during school hours and are teacher led. Some commitment may be required outside of school hours for rehearsals, performances and competitions. Your class teacher or the school office can provide additional information.
Debating and Public Speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and Performing Arts
Our CAPA program help students be creative and express themselves. Students have the opportunity to join the school band, school choir, learn to play the recorder and ukulele in addition to their in-class preforming arts lessons. Our school also participates in events such as The School Spectacular, Festival of Instrumental and Choral Music
Sports
Our school sports programs and PSSA interschool sport competitions provide students an opportunity to learn new sports, develop teamwork and sportsmanship across a range of sports. Some of the sports and programs our students have been involved in include ultimate frisby, lacross, jump rope for heart, basketball, netball, cricket, softball, touch football, AFL, soccer, dance, learn to swim / water safety, gymnastics, athletics.
Student Voice
The DPS Student Government are an elected group of students who meet regularly to provide a student voice to the school community, taking the concerns and insights of the student cohort to the council for discussion, along with organising initiatives and lead fundraisers. Each class elects two representatives a semester, with a member of staff supervising. Student Leaders and Prefects are elected from within the Year 6 student body.

Trips and Excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
